Before the trip

• Share your itinerary with one trusted person at home, with dates and city names.
• Save the local women's helpline (112 in most of India) and one local emergency contact per city.

Choosing a guide or buddy

• Jaipur/Udaipur — walk in the day, taxi at night; forts close at sunset for a reason.
• Goa — beach parties are fine in groups; alone, stay in the north-village belt (Vagator, Anjuna).
• Bengaluru — safer neighbourhoods: Indiranagar, Koramangala, HSR. Late-night Uber is standard.
